The surveys serve as basic information for station planning. Working on the formula will start after the results of the investigations are ready and all parties involved have had a chance to get to know the results.

In Lempuka and Hosseinlahti, nature and buildability studies have started this week. Later in the summer, a landscape survey and an archaeological survey will also be carried out in the area.

The surveys are related to the zoning of Lempuka and Hosseinlahti. The landscape survey also includes Malonsaari, Mikonsaari and Haapasaari, where the results are used in planning the recreational use of the islands.

In the nature surveys, the area's vegetation, aquatic vegetation, birds and bats are studied. The survey of flying squirrels has already started earlier.

- The purpose is to bring out all the things that must be taken into account when planning the site plan. According to the Land Use and Building Act, the site plan must be based on sufficient surveys so that the effects of the plan on nature, landscape, cultural heritage and recreational use can be evaluated, the planning architect of the city of Imatra Kaija Maunula says.

The constructability study examines the quality of the soil so that the street network and other infrastructure that may be built in the area can be implemented as economically as possible.

The results can be viewed on the city's website

The city government has made a decision on the urban planning of Lempukka and Hosseinlahti at its meeting on 14.12.2020 December XNUMX (§ 315). However, the site zoning of the area will only start after all the reports have been drawn up and the townspeople have been informed about the results of the reports.

The results of the surveys will be available for viewing and commenting on the zoning website at imatra.fi/zoning.

-Thus, everyone involved gets to familiarize themselves with them before starting to draw up the site plan, Maunula states.
