Support classes are intended for students who need special support.
The support classes at the Vuoksenniska School Center offer basic education to students in grades 1-9 from Imatra, for whom teaching in a small class is the most appropriate way to support the progress of the student's studies, comprehensive well-being and development. The goal of teaching and guidance is to be part of rehabilitative activities and to support the student's opportunities to study in general education groups according to an individual plan.
Vuoksenniska's support classes are available for both elementary and upper school students.
The transfer to the support class mainly takes place at the beginning of the semester or as separately agreed at the semester location.
For students in P classes, subjects are usually individualized or study is done by activity area.
The P classes at Vuoksenniska School Center offer basic education to students in Imatra's grades 1-9, for whom teaching in a small class is the most appropriate way to support the progress of the student's studies and comprehensive well-being and development.
P-class activities are part of rehabilitative activities where skills are practiced that support coping in a larger group and in life. The purpose of teaching and guidance is to support integration into the general education group as much as possible, and personal goals are drawn up for each student.
As a rule, the student has made a decision about extended compulsory education (11-years).
The transition to the P category mainly takes place at the beginning of the semester, sometimes at the beginning of the calendar year.
