In special youth work, the young person and the young person's family are supported in different stages of life and in challenging situations. From the service, young people get support in difficulties related to their life management, growth, social relationships or quality of life. Special youth work is preventive work that is best implemented in a multidisciplinary network with entities working with young people. The young person is always in the center, as an expert in their own life. The goal of special youth work is to support the young person's individual growth and development, to provide reliable and safe contact with adults, and to support the young person's capabilities. The main target group of special youth work is young people aged 12–17.
The duties of a special youth worker include, among other things
- Walkers (mobile youth work)
- supervision of individual and small group activities
- substance abuse education
- strengthening life management skills
- cooperation with primary and secondary schools
The young person himself, a parent or even a friend of the young person can contact the special youth worker. If you need help with, for example, relationships with friends, household chores or drugs, feel free to contact us!
