Supplying water to the property always requires a valid contract. New subscribers must always have signed contracts and approved KVV plans before the water supply starts.
Water consumption during construction is not measured, but is charged as a fixed fee of €74,00/year (VAT 24%). No wastewater fee is charged for water during construction.
The owner of the property must order the installation of a water meter from the water utility, phone 020 617 4333, before the property's water equipment is connected to the water supply. In the same context, the owner of the property is asked to contact water billing on 020 617 4343, so that the billing and consumption information is updated. After the meter is installed, water and wastewater charges are collected according to normal billing practice.
In the final inspection of KVV works performed on buildings, it is also checked that the water meter has been installed according to the instructions.
The water utility invoices the property for the connection fee and the site water pipe installation work when the water is put into use during construction. Water meter installation work is invoiced immediately after the meter is installed.
Connection point notification
Before starting planning, you must order a connection point notification from Imatra Water. It shows the location of the sewer and water pipe connections, the pressure levels of the water pipe network, the materials of the site pipes, the connection height and the embankment heights. Drainage points may not be connected below the dam height without special measures.
KVV plans
The HVAC designer draws up the plans based on the connection point notification, which must comply with the regulations regarding KVV equipment part D1 of the Finnish building regulations collection.
Documents included in the plans:
Accession agreement
The water and sewerage network is joined by signing a connection agreement with Imatra Vede.
Building land lines and installing a water meter
When the KVV plans have been delivered and the connection agreement has been signed, the builder can place a work order for the installation of the plot cables.
In the public area, Imatra Vesi will carry out the excavation and installation work required by the water main and sewer at its own expense. The delivery time for the construction of a new connection is 1–3 weeks, depending on the work situation. The builder is charged a joining fee.
The builder pays for the work performed on the plot.
The connection of the land lines to the already existing connections is ordered from Imatra Vede. The work order must be placed 2–4 days in advance.
A fixed fee is charged for water during construction. The water meter is installed before the final inspection.
The water meter must be placed in a suitable place so that it can be easily read and changed. The space must be drained and the meter must have a sufficiently sturdy mounting base.
The height of the inspection pipes and the water supply valve built on the plot must be adjusted to the level of the ground, the lids of the inspection pipes and the valve cap must not be covered. If it is necessary to change the altitude later, the work will be carried out by Imatra Vesi at its own expense. The work order must be placed 2–4 days in advance. If the inspection pipes or the water supply valve are damaged during the construction work of the property, Imatran Vesi will carry out the repair work at the expense of the property owner.
Before starting KVV installations, there must be a KVV foreman approved for the installation work at the site.
The inspection office performs the installation inspection of the water pipes and sewers installed under the building. As the work progresses, a pressure check of the water pipes and a final check are carried out when the water fixtures have been installed. Inspections are agreed between the inspection office and the KVV foreman approved for the installation work.
The final inspection (or partial final inspection) of water and sewage equipment must be held before the commissioning inspection by building control. The inspection time should be booked 2–4 days in advance.
If KVV devices are installed in connection with the renovation or expansion of the building, the plans and the KVV foreman application must be submitted, just like for a new building.
