Imatra offers great conditions for outdoor exercise both in summer and winter. The well-being created by exercise and the business that arises around it improve the vitality of the city.

One of Finland's best first-snow ski tracks opens in Imatra in autumn. The city's special features include the year-round biathlon course and the surrounding Ukonniemi sports and tourism center.

In the Ukonniemi area, there is an ice rink, a tennis hall, a multi-purpose hall, a biathlon-baseball stadium, a network of slopes that meet international standards, an ensilume slope, and a ski area to support young people's skiing training and education activities.
