Pupils receiving pre-school education in the scope of basic education, supplementary education and extended compulsory education have the right to free transport if the journey to school is longer than five kilometers or it becomes too difficult, stressful or dangerous.
At Imatra, the free transport benefit has been extended from 1st to 2nd. for school trips exceeding three kilometers for classes. The transport benefit applies to the pupil's local school. If the student chooses a school other than a nearby school, the guardian must cover the transportation costs.
The right to free school transport is defined in § 32 of the Basic Education Act.
The application for school transport is made through Wilma. You can also make a transport application using the printable form below (if you don't have Wilma IDs yet) and deliver it either to the school or to Welfare and Education Services at City Hall (service secretary Tuire Hatakka).
The principles regarding school transport are summarized in the School Transport Guide approved by the Education Board on 24.4.2012 April 27 § XNUMX.
