Barrier-free living and transaction are increasingly important factors in well-being as the population ages. Accessibility should be considered in one's own living environment already at the stage when one is still able to function and can organize one's circumstances for easy access.
A barrier-free environment requires continuous work. Among other things, Imatra has hundreds of apartments in apartment buildings without elevators. The installation of elevators in these houses is supported.
We challenge all city residents to report obstacles that make movement difficult. When you notice an obstacle that needs repair, contact the city's building control and we'll see what we can do about it.
All grants can be applied for all year round.
