Award for promoting a positive Imatra image

The Promoter of a Positive Imatra Image Award has been awarded since 2008. It is awarded to someone who, through their own actions, has promoted a positive image of Imatra in Imatra and nationwide.

•  In 2024 the prize was awarded Saimaa Cycle Tour organization. In just a few years, the event has grown into an international cycling event that attracts thousands of visitors to Imatra and the Saimaa region. The organization's professional and determined work brings positive visibility to Imatra all year round.
• In 2023 was awarded actor, musician Heikki Pöyhä. He is a multi-talented actor as well as a musician. We have enjoyed Pöyhiä's talent many times in Teatteri Imatra's productions. He has always marketed Imatra on his own initiative and in a wonderful style. Last winter, he brought his hometown to the fore in The Voice of Finland competition, his own expertise. Heikki Pöyhia is the true cultural ambassador of Imatra - Our Heikki.
• In 2022: Kanta-Imatra Society has made local history visible for years and supported the Imatra spirit. The city would like to thank especially for the persistent work to get the Inkeri statue. The statue is a testament to how will and action win. The result of fundraising and active cooperation is now everyone's Ilona at Inkerinaukio. The recognition is also a strong indication of the local Mö spirit.
• In 2021 The award for promoting a positive Imatra image has been awarded Jäppilänniemi Art Street for the active. The art trail, which has already been carried out 18 times, is very unique in its kind. It was produced by villagers, summer residents, artists and art students. This summer too, there were about 40 works on the art gallery. Taidetie has also gained visibility in the national media. Taidetie perfectly represents Imatra's sense of community, talko spirit and strong local art tradition. Received the award Raija Niemelä.
• In 2020 They received the award for spreading a positive Imatra image Heini and Johannes Vesterinen with their families. The Vesterinen family, Heini, Johannes and children Vilkku, Vuokko and Veikka, have been delighting the people of Imatra since last spring as yard musicians around the city. The vesters have brought joy to many people from Imatra and their activities have also made it into the national media as positive people from Imatra.
• In 2019 The award for promoting a positive Imatra image was awarded Imatran Ketterä ryfor. Over the years, the club has done long-term youth work, whose graduates play in several SM league teams. In just two years, the club rose to victory in Mestis last spring. The club has mobilized its large group of supporters to follow not only home games but also games in other towns. Imatra and Ketterä are and are known today all over Finland.
