Finland's first nature reserve, established in 1842 Crown Park, is located in the area between the rapids and the power plant. His Imperial Majesty Nicholas I issued the Kruununpuisto proclamation on August 24, 1842. The purpose was to protect the landscape of the mighty Imatra rapids and raise it to the value it deserves. Kruununpuisto is Finland's oldest nature reserve.
The nature trail is approx. 600 meters long. Checkpoints and signposts are marked on the terrain with boards.
Kruununpuisto is a Geopark destination.
Wednesday has been a favorite day for rapids shows. The guided tours have been a success.
The virtual rapids tour created in the surroundings of the Imatra rapids is now open to users. Works in a rapid environment.
