Ensilumenlatu opens in Imatra in record time

Release
29.4.2021 16:41
The tactic of three openings is also new.

Skiers' longing for the slopes is short-lived at Imatra.

Ukonniemi's first snow slope will be opened record early next autumn.

─ In the first phase, we will open already on 15.10. about 1,5 kilometers around the Ukonniemi stadium, the CEO of Mitra Lassi Nurmi says.

On the first day of November, the track will be lengthened to a race track of at least 2,8 kilometers. The entire five-kilometer track will be opened as soon as the weather permits.

The three-stage opening of the first-snow piste reduces the challenges it brings to the maintenance of the piste.

─ Our service promise is to keep the race track in ski condition in all autumn weather conditions until the end of 2021, Nurmi says.

The promise is supported by the fact that more snow has been stored for the coming season than before, around 75 cubic meters, which is about 30 cubic meters more than the previous year.

The snow is waiting under the sawdust blanket for use over the summer.
