Ensilumenlatu's snow for the season 2021 – 2022 is now packed

About 75 cubic meters of snow were made in Ukonniemi, which is about 000 cubic meters more than the previous year.

The goal was to collect at least 60 cubes of snow. The snow was cannoned this time in two places, the former places next to the Ukonniemi arena and the new place next to the old bubble hall. The snow for the coming winter was made faster this year than in any previous winter.

- It was possible to shoot there much faster compared to the old place. In the shelters of the forest, the wind did not affect nearly as much. The snow piled up better. The waste during the summer will also be smaller, says the CEO of Mitra Imatra Rakennuttaja Oy Lassi Nurmi.

The snow is now covered with sawdust and spread over the ground again in the fall. The opening date of the first snow slope has not yet been locked, but there is more snow than ever in store for the slopes of the coming winter. 

This winter's snowmaking project was carried out by Ruokolahti Freeski ky as Mitra's subcontractor.
