In the fall, two forest trips are organized to the model sites of carbon sequestration in the terrain.

Imatra aims to be carbon neutral by 2030

Metsäreket organizes HINKUA in South Karelia! -project. The project is implemented by the environmental activities of the Imatra region and the Lappeenranta region, and its implementation period is March 1.3.2020, 31.12.2022–December 350, 000. The project's budget is €XNUMX and it is financed by the Rural Development Program of Mainland Finland of the Southeast Finland ELY Center.

The Finnish forest center Southeast Finland and the PISARA+ project are also involved in the arrangements for Uti's forest trip.

The project is part of Imatra's climate work. The goal of the city of Imatra is to be carbon neutral by 2030.

The work has started well: Imatra's climate emissions decreased by almost a tenth in 2020. From the level of 2007, the total emissions are decreased by 51 percent in Imatra.
