Modules are not a quick move option.

Today, the city's management team received a report on the indoor air working group's recent expert statements regarding the Linnala school. The working group made a proposal on Friday that evacuation facilities should be found for the entire Linnala school.

The need for evacuation facilities is due to the fact that, according to the health authority, it is not safe to be in the school during the school renovation.

Facilities and security manager Sami Turunen proposed to the management team that the school will move to emergency rooms to wait for new school centers.

At the end of the management team meeting, the mayor Kai Roslakka outlined that the Linnala school will move to emergency rooms. The castle is no longer being renovated. Initiated corrective actions are suspended.

─ The search for shelters starts immediately from existing properties owned or rented. The transition to evasion mode is carried out as quickly as possible. Those with acute symptoms are assigned the facilities first, says Roslakka.

The management team reminds that parents still have the option to apply for the student's immediate transfer to another school if the situation requires it.

Dispersion of the school to different addresses is likely

Last summer, the city did a preliminary space survey in case there was a need for partial evacuation spaces, for example, during renovations. Now that plan is being reviewed and new options are being explored.

It is possible that changes will have to be made in the emergency rooms.

303 children study at Linnala school.

─ It is not necessarily possible to find one big escape room for the school, but the school's operations have to be decentralized, Turunen states.

Ordering modules, at least for this school year, is not an option, because their ordering and delivery time is less than a year.

The selection of shelters is decided by the welfare committee. The next time the board meets on 20.11.
