The selection will be made in two weeks. Information will be organized for the staff, parents and city residents.

The city of Imatra was given a deadline of Wednesday, March 7.3. by 12 o'clock, four offers for Mansikkala's new school center.

The offers include planning, the actual construction contract and the maintenance of the school center property according to the life cycle model.

― We are very satisfied with the number of offers. Now begins the analysis of the offers and checking that the offers are in accordance with the request, CEO of Imatra YH-Rakennuttaja Oy Lassi Nurmi says.

This tender was implemented as a competitive negotiation procedure. More than half a year ago, four companies were selected for the procurement negotiation phase. After that, each company held several detailed negotiations with the city, the purpose of which was to mutually define the project. After this, the city submitted a final request for tenders in January.

― The process has therefore been quite long and demanding. It has been important that, alongside the official negotiations, the future users of the premises have already been able to influence the tender criteria, project manager Mari Routti says.

The processing of offers proceeds in such a way that the offers are first reviewed based on their content and scored in terms of quality. Only after that on Friday 16.3. the separate price envelopes of the bidders will be opened. The combined result of the quality and price points decides the winner.

― The goal is for the decision to be made on Wednesday, March 21.3. We will announce the winner immediately on the same day. The next day, we organize information for the staff of early childhood education, primary education and high school, and in the evening for guardians and townspeople. At these events, we try to answer the questions that have arisen, says Routti.

The city of Imatra is making the most significant investment in its history by renewing its kindergarten and school network. The operation is focused on three centers and new facilities are being built in all of them. Mansikkala wood school will be the largest of these construction contracts.

Koske's school is also starting to prepare for a new building. Space elements will be ordered for some of the students during the construction period, where teaching will begin next fall. The space elements have been tendered. A decision will be made about the two bidders in the near future.
