Zoning and Construction Act for statements
Ministry of the Environment 27.9.2021 12.02
The Ministry of the Environment has sent a proposal for the government's planning and construction act to the opinion round. The new law would replace the current Land Use and Building Act. According to the government program, the goal of the law reform is to ensure that Finland achieves carbon neutrality in 2035. Statements can be made until December 7.12.2021, XNUMX.
"Now we are strengthening the foundations of carbon-neutral Finland. The new law will determine for the next decades how to build in Finland and how to plan the use of our areas. A third of greenhouse gas emissions are caused by the built environment, which means that at least one large block of climate solutions can be found there. We are now making sure that the law governing planning and construction meets the current and future needs of our society," explains the Minister of the Environment and Climate Krista Mikkonen.
