A school student can get the right to travel free of charge from the city hall's customer service. Tickets that have already been purchased will be renewed automatically.

The trial of free leisure tickets for elementary school students continues. The Urban Development Board decided on Tuesday that the free service that started in 2022 will be extended until the end of 2023.

− Extending the trial period promotes the use of public transport and familiarity. Imatra aims to be a child-friendly municipality and this public transport experiment is one way to improve services for children and young people, maintenance engineer Kaisa Pohjola says.

Young people of primary school age can travel unlimitedly free of charge on the city's bus service on weekdays after 16 pm, all day on weekends and public holidays. During school holidays, the leisure ticket is also valid for the whole day.

Normally, without a trial, the price of a leisure ticket is 20 euros a year.

A school-aged person, i.e. 7-16 years old, can get a leisure ticket by visiting the city hall's customer service or sending an email customer serviceatimatra.fi (customer service[at]imatra[dot]fi). In your message, state the card number, user name and date of birth.

Tickets that have already been purchased will be renewed automatically.
