The city is looking for artists to beautify Napinkulma for the summer

The general appearance of Imatrankoski needs tidying up. In this respect, small changes can be made with very quick actions.

- We have received feedback from the townspeople, among other things, that Napinkulma, which is awaiting demolition, is not an eye-catcher. We have come to the conclusion that for the summer tourist season we want to freshen up the exterior of the house a bit, service manager Arja Kujala says.

Napinkulma's grim look also came up in the library's Erätauko discussion last week.

The city is hoping for ideas from local artists to improve the summer condition of the demolished house.

- You could make art on the windows of the demolition house, for example, on separate boards, so that the art could be moved to another place later. We are open to creative ideas, Kujala encourages.

Pinpinkulma will be demolished next fall at the earliest.

The city will invest in improving the appearance of Imatrankoski more broadly later.
