The city commissions two reports on the placement of international students in companies and the factors affecting it

The city of Imatra is involved as a partial implementer in the AIKO-financed joint project of the network of regional cities, the main goals of which are the availability of skilled labor and meeting the top industries of the participating regional cities, as well as strengthening the holding and attraction of regional cities.

In Imatra's partial implementation of this Flexible educational models project and several other ongoing projects in the region, a new operating environment will be created where elementary school students will be introduced to robotics and its various possibilities and applications.
In relation to the project, Imatra will commission two studies at LUT University, one of which will map the companies and types of companies in the area that have a low threshold for hiring international talent.

The second work finds out which ways and models LUT University's international Cooperation Universities use to integrate international students into companies in the regions and how these universities respond to challenges related to language skills requirements, cultural differences, attitudes and other possible factors.

The city of Imatra has made a donation to the LUT Support Foundation for these above-mentioned surveys.

The purpose of the LUT University and Vocational Education Support Foundation is to support and promote the research and teaching carried out at the university. Companies and communities can make donations to the LUT support foundation for research work in a specific field represented by the university.
