The city government prepares matters to be considered by the city council and implements the council's decisions. It oversees the city's interests and makes contracts and legal acts in the city's name. The city government also appoints the city's representatives to various administrative bodies and selects leading officials and manages the city's economic policy measures.
As a rule, the Imatra city council meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. The meetings start at 15.00. The minutes of the City Council are available on Tuesday of the week after the meeting from 9.00 to 11.30 at the customer service point of the city hall. In addition, agendas and minutes can be read on our website as soon as they are completed.
