Ari Lindeman will start familiarization with the duties of the mayor on Wednesday, September 1.9.

With a few questions, the city's communication decided to find out what Lindeman's moods are now in the face of the new.

1. Ari Lindeman, could you introduce yourself?

I am a 53-year-old economist from Kouvola and a philosophy enthusiast. I am the father of three adult children. I enjoy outdoor activities and philosophical literature. I started studying the piano last spring.

I am interested in doing common good.

2. How are you feeling about coming to Imatra?

With pleasure. Every time I have visited Imatra, I have received a good reception and met pleasant people. When you get off the highway to Mansikkala, you immediately feel good. I hope that the same wonderful atmosphere would be better conveyed to those who drive past Imatra on the Kuutostie.

3. Are you moving to Imatra right away and where did you find the home?

I will initially move to Imatra by myself to a small owner-occupied apartment on Kanava square. I'm looking at the city in peace and a year from now in the summer it could be time to get a bigger apartment

4. You start on 29.9. vs. as mayor. It is said that in the first hundred days a new leader shows the direction of the organization. What are you going to do on those days?

I have thought of doing three things first.  First, I'm going to meet and talk with people from the organization.

Secondly, I will meet with stakeholders and thirdly, we will make a joint target space with the council until 2025.

Of course, at the very beginning, you also have to create an organization and hire new people. (Two new director positions will be created for Imatra under the mayor).

5. You have previously been on the education side of your career. What will you bring with you to Imatra?

I have knowledge of the teaching and education sector from primary school to university, as I have been a teacher in primary classes, high school, vocational college, university of applied sciences and university. I feel that I am a strong pedagogical leader. By this I mean that I want to see the potential of both the workers and the townspeople. It is important to find the desire for development in all people and to encourage them on the path of eternal learning. Finding new directions is important.
