A tourist information point opened next to Inkerinaukio

Inkerinaukio was opened yesterday, June 7.6. tourist information point Kesäinfo, which guides tourists to Imatra's tourist attractions and experiences. The purpose of Kesäinfo is to make Imatra's tourism opportunities more accessible to tourists from out of town as well.

Travel expert Pentti Miikki commented that Kesäinfo started last year, when the popularity of domestic tourism grew rapidly.

- The amount of feedback and wishes speaks of the clear need to invest in guiding tourists. The purpose of summer info is to improve the accessibility of Imatra's tourist destinations.

Two guides

In addition to travel information, it is possible to buy Imatra products from Kesäinfo, such as fabric bags and coffee mugs made of recycled plastic. The sale also includes designs by Akseli Gallen-Kallela in 1893 Finland's first tourism poster that markets Imatra.

- Yesterday's opening day was quite calm, but there were still enough customers in a steady stream, Kesäinfo employees Saga Backman and Pauliina from Turku describe.

Backman and Turkulainen predict that the hottest tourist season will start after Midsummer and continue until August. 10.7. They also think that the starting Imatrankoski rapids shows will increase the number of customers significantly.
