Mansikkala school center received an honorable mention in the 2020 Wood Prize competition

The 2020 jury of the Puupróði has decided to award Mansikkala School Center with the Puupróði honorable mention.

The award was announced today at the Wood Days webinar organized by the producers of the wood industry. 

- It's great that we got a mention. We received positive feedback from the evaluators, says the deputy mayor Kaisa Heino.

As a sign of the honorable mention, Imatra will receive a plaque that will later be attached to the school wall.

- Yes, it will be attached to the wall, as long as the architect finds a suitable place for it, Heino states.

The wood prize is awarded annually as an incentive to a building, interior or structure that represents high-quality Finnish wooden architecture or where wood has been used in a way that promotes construction technology.
