Hoping for a little frost

Initially, the track will be three kilometers long, and it will be extended to the familiar five kilometer length from previous years if the weather gets colder.

In terms of track maintenance, the best weather in the coming weeks would be a little frost.

- Rainfall is more difficult, because then the surface of the track freezes easily and maintenance is difficult. One challenge is also the leaves falling on the track. That problem has been tried to be prevented by removing deciduous trees along the track, sports center master Jani Niittynen Imatran Kiinteistö- ja Luepalvelu Oy from Kipa states.

The renewed route of the Ensilume track meets the FIS competition standards of the International Ski Federation. The first international cross-country skiing competition will be held on the first snow slope from October 30.10 to November 1.11. The competition opens the Finnish cross-country skiing season.
