Children's sports clubs at schools

School sports clubs are starting again in Imatra. The free sports clubs held once a week at different schools are intended for afternoon club members and other school children from grades 1-2.

Sports clubs are part of Lasten's business, which is playful physical education managed by the Finnish Olympic Committee. The city of Imatra has been cooperating with local sports clubs in school club activities for a few years now. This year, Imatra's Kusanku, Imatra's Liikuntaseura ILse and Urheiluseura Imatra's voima are participating. 

- The hope is that the school afternoon club instructors will participate in sports clubs with their group. The children can then get to know the sports activities run by the clubs for free, he says Marjatta Koskensalo.

The clubs meet once a week on Monday afternoons from 13:15.30 to 40:38, except in Meltola on Tuesday afternoons. Sports clubs start in week XNUMX and registrations are made in week XNUMX. Registration instructions will come to Wilma in the near future.
 

Other Clubs

Other clubs also meet at the schools: there is a robotics club in Vuoksenniska, a club club in Mansikkala, a drama club in Meltola and an art club in Imatrankoski, and many other clubs are planned. 

You can participate in clubs, even if the club does not operate in "your" school center. The clubs are free for the participants because the Board of Education has granted project funding to the school clubs and the city of Imatra also participates in the activities with its own contribution.
