Mowing street areas in Imatra

Grass mowing continues throughout the summer, plot owners are responsible for the maintenance of green lanes and ditches on residential streets.

Roadside mowing has started in Imatra; areas are mowed from main thoroughfares, collector streets and along light rail lines. Meadows continue in the street areas of Imatra throughout the summer.

The moats keep the viewing areas open and thus increase traffic safety and unhindered visibility for those moving on the road, says the city gardener Erika Luhtanen.

For housing associations and lot owners, mowing of the green strip or ditch immediately bordering the lot and maintenance of other vegetation along the street are included.

Vegetation must always be taken care of in time, so that it does not cause harm to people walking on the street, Luhtanen reminds.

Hay is cut from the main public roads by the city, but the maintenance of the green lanes and ditches located in the immediate vicinity of the plot is the responsibility of the plot owners and building societies.
