The Industrial Workers' Housing Museum opens its doors on Tuesday, July 14.7. Both the sauna and the residential building are then open to the public, but special care must be taken this summer.

- No admission tickets are sold to the museum in order to avoid handling cash. You move around the premises under the guidance of a guide. The guides can be reached in the courtyard area - this way, encounters in the tight spaces of the interior can be minimized, explains the museum staff Kalle Pakarinen.

Keeping safe distances is one of the most important precautions even in the museum.

- Efforts must be made to ensure that there are as few close encounters as possible, especially between different parties. We hope that the visitors take into account the distance to the staff as well as to other visitors. The guide takes the situation into account by keeping group sizes as small as possible in the museum premises, Pakarinen explains about the arrangements.

In addition to maintaining a sufficient distance, taking care of hand hygiene is important.

- The museum offers hand sanitizer, which we hope visitors will use, says Pakarinen.

Various events have also been organized in the museum grounds in the past, but this summer this is not possible.

- For example, the seedling exchange market and commemorative evenings of the Friends of Imatra garden have been popular. Hopefully next summer at the latest, events can be organized again, Pakarinen states.
