The summer paving work begins

Summer street paving will start next week, i.e. week 22, with rutting. The longest patching areas are Korvankannantie, Tainionkoskentie and Lakasentie. In addition to these, the section of Imatrankoskentie over the Imatrankoski bridges and shorter sections on different sides of the city will be patched. 

In week 23, asphalting of the streets will begin. Halmekatu, Kuljettajankatu, Kuusenkorvankatu, Peipposenkatu and Hukankatu are the first in line. All streets are supposed to be paved in the same week, rain may slow down the work. 

- The work will cause a disturbance on the street, and traffic may be stopped for a while from time to time, but there should be no major inconvenience. The contractor handles the traffic guidance on site, says technical manager Heikki Varis Mitra from Imatra Rakennuttaja Oy. 

During the summer, sprinkler coatings are also carried out in Itä-Siitola and Saareksiinmäki, and parts of the bike path are repaired in different parts of the city. The works will be announced as they become relevant.
