The demolition of the Sienimäki overpass and the resulting traffic arrangements

In order to build a double track, the overpass crossing the track in Sienimäki will be demolished. The bridge has been used by light traffic. Light traffic will be diverted to a detour that goes via Korvasienenkatu and Sienestäjänkatu to Vuoksentie and from there along the edge of 6-tie. 

- The dismantling of the bridge in the first phase will affect the pedestrian and cycling routes. The alternative route is also marked with signs on the terrain, says the foreman Arto Björkqvist from GRK Infra Oy. 

A new bridge will be built later.

- There are a lot of infrastructure projects underway in the area, which will cause changes to both vehicles and light traffic. Going to the construction site is strictly prohibited and guided detours must be used, says the city engineer Päivi Pekkanen.
