South Karelia is doing advanced development work.

The city of Imatra, the city of Lappeenranta, the Employment and Economic Affairs Office of Southeast Finland (TE office) and the South Karelia Social and Health District (EKSOTE) have entered into a cooperation agreement on the organization of cab operations in the South Karelia region.

Regional cabin agreements have not been prepared much at the national level, so South Karelia is doing progressive development work in this regard. The agreement brings permanence to Ohjaamo operations and stabilizes the structures of the operation.

After all, it's all about the youth. It's good that cockpit activity is recognized as an effective way to help all young people. Cockpits are not a passing thing, different ministries are behind it. Centralized low-threshold services are today, we work together for young people and in cooperation with young people, supervisor of youth services Marika Vento says.

The Lappeenranta and Imatra Control Centers offer low-threshold group activities for people under 30 and concrete help with various everyday issues. The goal of the activity is to promote youth employment, enrollment in education, and to strengthen young people's life management. In 2019, a total of 5865 people participated in the operations of the Imatra and Lappeenranta Control Centers.

The cockpits operate on an on-call basis, offering multidisciplinary general advice, support and expert assistance. The activity is coordinated by the youth services of the cities of Imatra and Lappeenranta together with the TE office of Southeast Finland and Eksote. In addition to emergency services, expert service is also available by appointment and in various groups and events, which are organized both at Ohjaamo offices and in various parts of South Karelia.
The organizations involved in the agreement nominate representatives to the Cockpit operation, who act as cockpit workers as part of the Cockpit's multidisciplinary team, bringing the know-how and services of their own background organization to the operation. In addition to joint customer service, representatives participate in joint operational development and stakeholder cooperation.

This week is national pilot week.
