Independence Day culminates in an illuminated rapids show played by Netta Skog in Finlandia.

Independence Day is traditionally celebrated in Imatra. The day begins with a festive service at 10 o'clock in the Church of the Three Crosses. Osmo Kontinen gives the sermon at the service.  

Visits to the graves of heroes will be done at 11.30:XNUMX. This year, the main event is at Vuoksenniska's hero's grave, where city council member Jani Telkkä will give a speech. Visits of honor are also made to the graves of heroes in Imatrankoski and Tainionkoski. 

- In the program of the Independence Day celebration this year, an effort has been made to take into account new young talents and it was nice to also include the musician Imatran Inkeri, says the event expert Sari Saarinen.

An illuminated rapids show ends the day

The Independence Day celebration ends at 17 p.m. with an illuminated rapids show. The show will feature Finlandia played by Netta Skog, the world champion of digital harmonica.
