Imatra has started preparing next year's budget

The preparation of the budget of the city of Imatra for next year has started. Unlike previous years, the budget is to be decided by the council already in November, i.e. one month faster.

At the beginning of the preparation, it is already clear that making a balanced budget will be a challenge. There are many factors on both the expenditure and income side, the effects of which are difficult to predict. The finances of the city of Imatra are strongly affected, especially by the growing expenses of the social and health district Eksote.

─ The city has to adapt its operations more thoroughly than before. Any means of saving are not excluded. We have to evaluate the organization of activities, which may also have personnel effects, mayor Kai Roslakka says.

The framework for balancing the economy will become clearer on September 9-10.9. At that time, the city government starts processing the budget.

─ We will inform as soon as we have had discussions on the subject with the trustees.

The mayor presented the economic outlook to the members of the city's cooperation committee today, Friday.
