The city council of Imatra demolished the acting the mayor's office

In its extraordinary meeting on Friday, March 25.3, the Imatra city council dismantled. Acting mayor Ari Lindeman's during the probationary period due to a lack of trust.

The termination process was started on the basis of a council initiative submitted by 24 councilors, just under two weeks ago on Monday.

The decision was not unanimous, but was voted on twice.

Chairman of the SDP group Antero Lattu made an amendment proposal different from the proposal of the city government, which proposed the establishment of a temporary committee to investigate acting trust of the mayor.

On behalf of the coalition group Markku Pentikäinen made a motion to amend that the city government's basic motion be supplemented so that acting the mayor's employment ends immediately with a probationary period on Friday, March 25.3.

Both motions were supported by several councilors.

First, the council voted on two amendments. Pentikäinen's amendment motion defeated Latu's amendment motion 25-18 in the vote.

Next, the council voted on the city government's basic proposal and Pentikäinen's change proposal. 25 councilors supported Pentikäinen's motion. A total of 18 councilors voted no.

16 councilors left a dissenting opinion on the decision.

Hilden takes care of acting duties of the mayor

The council's final decision is that acting the mayor's position will be terminated immediately on 25.3. from Lindeman will be notified of the termination of the position immediately.

Acting In the future, the duties of the mayor will be performed by the current director of strategy and administration in accordance with the administrative rules Matias Hilden. The city will provide more information about liability arrangements and follow-up measures in the coming weeks.
