The city of Imatra investigates the use of public transport with a survey

The city of Imatra promotes sustainable mobility in a purposeful and planned manner.

In the period before Corona, the number of public transport passengers increased for many years. During the pandemic, however, the number of users has decreased.

The city of Imatra has launched a project whose goal is to encourage especially children, young people and the elderly to use public transport again. The project has received a state grant from Traficom. 

As the first part of the project, a survey will be organized, the aim of which is to map the current situation of public transport in Imatra.

- The results of the survey will be used in the planning and implementation of public transport development measures, traffic planner Kaisa Pohjola says.
