Requests for tenders for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant have been published

The new treatment plant will be built on the site of the old treatment plant in Meltola. The value of the competition is around 11 million euros.

The plans for the new wastewater treatment plant are ready and Imatra Vesi is now looking for builders for it.

- It is a shared contract, which means that the subcontractors or independent contractors are directly in a contractual relationship with the customer. This is aimed at a more affordable price, says the water supply manager of Imatra Vede Kari Pietarinen

Offers are requested for five different entities; construction work, machinery and equipment, HVAC work, electrical work and automation and instrumentation. Of these, the construction contract is the main contract and other contractors are subordinated to the main contractor by contract.

Bids must be submitted by 25.3. by. The city council will decide on the purchase at its meeting at the end of May.

- If the process goes without complaints, then a dry summer would be a good construction time in this case. The work begins with the demolition of old structures. The cleaning plant has two lines. First, the second line is built and then we move on to the second. In this way, the operation of the treatment plant will not be interrupted.

Better cleaning results

The most significant difference compared to the current cleaning process is the post-treatment of wastewater. In the current process, water purification ends when the waste water flows over the edges of the purification basins and from there into Vuo.

- This will also include fabric elements through which the waste water passes before it ends up in Vuo. The fabrics aim to reduce phosphorus emissions in particular. A good 90 percent of the phosphorus in the waste water can be removed, Pietarinen says.

The post-processing was tendered last year already, because the supplier of the system had to participate in the design of the current plant. Post-treatment is a new technology that is only used in a few of Finland's wastewater treatment plants.

Requests for tenders are available at sukkurtoyuktet.fi

For those interested in participating in the tender, a tour of the construction site will be organized on 25.2. and 11.3.2021 March 14.00 at XNUMX:XNUMX.
