The use of temporary facilities is planned together with the staff.

In its extraordinary meeting today, Imatra's welfare board outlined that the empty module on the edge of the Linnala field will be rented for the use of the Mansikkala school center.

The additional space will be put into use after the Christmas holidays. Before that, the space will be prepared back for school use, for example with regard to the heating system.

The acute need for space is due to the fact that, due to the corona virus, the common, open learning spaces of the tree school cannot be used as shared spaces for groups in the way they were originally planned to be used.

In addition, during the spring and summer, about a class and a half of students have moved to the area of the Mansikkala school center. The Mansikkala school center has been sized taking into account the declining student numbers. The premises will become vacant in a few years as the number of students decreases.

The use of the module is temporary. The space will first be rented from the beginning of spring semester 2021 until the end of spring semester 2022.

How the school center utilizes the additional space is planned in cooperation with the staff.

The module has spaces for 5-6 teaching groups. 150 euros will be reserved for the costs of the module for next year.

Caregivers will be informed about the matter in more detail as soon as the plans become more detailed.
