A comprehensive exhibition on global warming and what Imatra has done for the climate has been assembled in the lobby of Imatra's main library. There is also an opportunity to discuss climate issues with experts on site.

A comprehensive information package on climate change has been put together for the Imatra main library's Climate Wise exhibition. The exhibition opens on Thursday 1.10 October.

There is a lot of information related to global warming as well as tips on what each of us can do in our everyday life to slow down climate change.

Imatra's goal is to be a carbon-neutral city by 2030. The goal is tough and its achievement requires measures in every operational area of the city.

- A lot has already been done. For example, 98 percent of Imatra's district heating is renewable energy, says the project leader of the Ilmostovisaat project, which put together the exhibition Eetu Ahlberg says.

However, combating climate change is everyone's business. Everyone can do something, and even small things matter.

- One of the easiest ways is to reduce food waste, and planning menus in advance, for example, helps with that. Reducing meat consumption is also an effective method - you don't have to stop eating meat completely, Ahlberg reminds.

In addition to the works, the exhibition provides comprehensive information about global warming and its effects on the Earth.

In connection with the exhibition, there is an opportunity to discuss and ask questions

Ahlberg and Hinkua, which gathers rural climate works in South Karelia! - project leader Anna-Maija Wikström will be present in the lobby of the main library on Wednesday 7.10 October. from 12:14 to 21.10:12 and on Wednesday 14. from XNUMX:XNUMX to XNUMX:XNUMX.

They welcome the townspeople to discuss climate change and Imatra's climate actions.

- The question often arises, for example, of what a small person from Imatra can do when the biggest polluters are found far away. For example, this is an interesting discussion topic, Ahlberg advises.

The exhibition opens on October 1.10. and is open until October. 5.10. starting week, the national Energy Saving Week is celebrated. Energy efficiency is also one of the themes on which information is shared at the exhibition.

The exhibition is organized jointly by the Climate Wise project Go to South Karelia! with the project.
