Imatra day is canceled for this year

The Imatra day is canceled this year due to the corona risk.

─ This is really unfortunate, because many performers, associations, volunteers and companies have been committed to organizing the event for many months. However, we don't want to take a risk because of the corona, because it would be difficult to follow the safety distances required on Imatra day, the producer of the event Sari Saarinen regrets.

Saarinen contacts the partners of the event. The hope is that the preparations made now can be made visible next fall.

─ We have such good teamwork that I believe that we will be able to make an even better Imatra day in 2021, says Saarinen.

The Imatra medal, the award for the promoter of a positive Imatra image, and the Participate and influence award are awarded regardless. They and the new Imatran Inkeri will be announced on September 5.9.2020, 12. The city of Imatra and the Imatra Youth Chamber of Commerce will organize a joint announcement event at XNUMX noon. This event can be followed live on the city's website, Facebook and Twitter.

The traditional time of Imatra Day is the second last weekend of August. Because of the corona, the event was already postponed to September once before the cancellation decision.
