At Mansikkala's new school center, a traffic safety event will be organized in connection with the start of school on Thursday morning, August 13.8.

Around 1400 children and young people and staff begin their daily journey to the Mansikkala school center. In addition, hundreds of guardians of schoolchildren and kindergarteners move around the school in various vehicles. In addition to the new building, the traffic arrangements are also new.

- The purpose of the traffic safety event is to guide students, chaperones and staff arriving at the school center about the new traffic arrangements and correct actions. These include arrangements for escort traffic, parking and safe routes, says the traffic safety coordinator organizing the event. Terhi Svenns From Ramboll Finland Oy.

In addition, the drawing reminds and draws the attention of other traffic to the start of school.

- With the start of school, there are many school children on the move again, many of whom are just learning to move independently among other traffic. Motorists are asked to be attentive and careful, especially near schools - not only when school starts, but also in the future. Children and young people have the right to move safely on school trips and in their own surroundings. The behavior of adults in traffic determines the safety of many school roads, stresses the headmaster of the school center Lasse Tiilikka.

The school's parent committee, Imatra's safety working group, as well as the city's welfare board, urban development board and city government have been invited to participate in the takeover.
Participants gather in front of the school's main door at 7.30:10. The rapture ends around XNUMX o'clock, when all the students have started school.
