The first performance written for the theater premieres in February.

The theater in Imatra will premiere a new domestic musical on February 13.2.2021, XNUMX Life behind the window, which was written for the theater by a writer, a Unicef goodwill ambassador Eppu Nuotio, known for his numerous works.

This joyfully gritty musical Life behind the window tells about good friends Marja-Leena and Karoliina's escapades in today's Auervaara. It tells the story of Karoliina and Hannu's separation. It tells about the transformation of Hannu and Karoliina's son Kai into Päivi and the new direction of the relationship between father and son. And it tells about the old Miss Amalia Niemi who lives in her memories and encourages Kai unconditionally. And about Hannu, a decent Finnish man who has to rebuild his life completely when his wife disappears. Karoliina wants a new life: "I've been looking at life from behind the window, it's over now!"

A continuation of the series of popular musical plays

The warm, everyday familiar, funny and touching musical play written by Eppu Nuotion explores the roughness of a relationship and takes Gösta Sundqvist to the nostalgic world of beloved songs. The songs of the musical play include, for example, Rin-Tin-Tin, Angel feathers on the windowsill, Laura Jenna Ellinoora Alexandra Camilla Jurvanen, Northern Karelia, Hammer and nails, Amalia and Marja-Leena.

In Teatteri Imatra, domestic musical plays have been very popular, and they have been seen over the years, e.g. Rauli Badding from Somerjoki, Juice Leskis and Irwin Goodman, says the theater manager Timo Rissanen.

We talked with the actors a couple of years ago, and this idea about Gösta Sundqvist's songs came up. We agreed that I would take the matter forward by looking for an author and discussing the format. Gösta Sundqvist's relatives do not want the story of Gösta himself on stage, and then the ingenious idea of creating a personal gallery from the characters of the composer's song was born. Eppu Nuotio became very interested in this, and a little over a year ago we held our first meeting. Now the text of the musical is ready, the expectations for next spring are high, Rissanen continues.

The musical is directed by Timo Rissanen, set design by Maarit Kalmakurki (from Sweden), costumes by Marja Liukkonen, choreography by Jouni Prittinen (from Sweden), conductor Lauri Kuosa.

Regular performance on the big stage of Teatteri Imatra on Saturday 13.2.2021 February XNUMX.

The performances will continue until April 24.4.2021, XNUMX.

Tickets for the musical go on sale in September.
