Running legends opened the renewed Ukonniemi sports field

A group of sports legends from Imatra were seen at the opening of the Ukonniemi sports field. After the opening ceremony, the roar of 600 young athletes filled the sports field and the grandstand smelling of novelty.

Among Imatra's track and field athletes, the long-awaited moment was proven for a long time when the Ukonniemi sports field was opened for use on Saturday. 

In his opening speech, the mayor Kai Roslakka said that the decision-makers in Imatra want to continue investing in Ukonniemi. 

The opening ceremony was followed by the final of the youth athletics club cup for 11-17-year-olds, whose participants come to Imatra from all over Finland.
