Imatra signed an agreement with YIT Talo Oy for Finland's largest wood school

The city of Imatra and YIT Talo Oy signed the procurement contract for the Mansikkala school center on Monday.

YIT is building Finland's largest wood school in Mansikkala. The school will be completed in 2020.

The acquisition value of the total investment of the school center is a maximum of 45 million euros. It includes more than the contract with YIT, for example furniture.

YIT undertakes to renovate and maintain the property 20 years after its completion. In total, YIT's share, i.e. the investment and the long maintenance contract according to the life cycle model, cost 55 million euros.

- In addition to the investment, the price also includes basic repairs and maintenance for two decades, The annual space costs will be the same as the current costs of the units connected to it., says the person who signed the contract as mayor Kaisa Heino.

The construction of the wooden school starts quickly. Demolition work has already started for the old school.

- The new wooden multipurpose building is a wonderful decision for long-term school network preparation. Imatra's decision-makers have made a far-reaching decision, especially for the well-being of children and young people, the chairman of the city board Anna Helminen.
