As a rule, children in early childhood education are placed in a daycare center or family daycare near their own area of ​​residence. Pre-school education takes place in residential areas in Koski, Mansikkala or Vuoksenniska school center.

In addition to early childhood education personnel, special early childhood education teachers (veot) work in kindergartens, family day care and preschool groups in their own areas. The early childhood special education teacher consults the staff in matters related to the child's development and learning and works in children's groups as needed and possible.

In early childhood education and pre-school education, the child receives general, enhanced or special support according to the three-level support.

General support belongs to everyone. It is the first way to respond to the need for support. This usually means individual pedagogical solutions and short-term guidance and support measures.

The child receives enhanced support if the need for support is regular or if he needs several forms of support at the same time. Special support is given to those children whose need for support is individual, full-time and continuous.

In early childhood education and pre-primary education, support can be given to the child in many ways. The working methods and learning environments of early childhood education and pre-primary education are modified according to the individual needs of the child.

Support can include pedagogical, structural and therapeutic forms of support. The support is organized in cooperation between the early childhood education teacher and other personnel, and all team members commit to providing support. The aim is to allocate flexible group assistant services to groups of children, taking the children's support needs into account.

At all levels of support, the pedagogy is based on high-quality early childhood education and pre-school education, which is the basis for the child's development, learning and well-being. The goals and support measures are recorded in the child's early childhood education plan or preschool learning plan.
