Distribution of summer work vouchers 2023 1.2.-30.6.2023

All summer work vouchers have now been distributed! The extra banknotes made possible by the additional allocation from the city of Imatra quickly ran out. 

The value of the summer work voucher will rise to 350 euros this year! The minimum wage for young people will rise to 500 euros. 

The city of Imatra, Ruokolahti, Rautjärvi, Parikkala and OP South Karelia will support the employment of young people in the summer of 2023 by distributing summer work vouchers to young people born in 2003-2009. 

When using the summer work voucher, the salary paid to the young person is at least €500/60h - the employer saves €350 in salary costs of the value of the summer work voucher. At the edge of the page, you can see the number of remaining banknotes.

The distribution of summer work vouchers starts on February 1.2.2023!

A summer work voucher is applied for using an electronic application form, which the young person fills out together with the employer. The application period for vouchers is 1.2 February to 30.6.2023. We live flexibly with the situation, so changes to, for example, age groups are possible during the spring.

We aim to send a response message about issuing the banknote within a week of receiving the application, there may be a slight delay at the beginning due to the backlog. Vouchers are issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Information about the summer work voucher 

  • Summer work vouchers are issued to those born in 2003-2009 for young people from Imatra, Rokulahti, Rautjärve and Parikkala. 
    • All Banknotes printed by OP (30 pieces Imatra + 15 pieces Ruokolahti, 15 pieces Rautjärvi, 15 pieces Parikkala) will be distributed v. for young people born in 2006-2008.
    • The banknotes of the municipalities of Imatra (210), Ruokolahti (20), Rautjärvi (10) and Parikkala (10) are distributed to young people born in 2003-2009. 

  • The summer worker's home municipality must be Imatra, Ruokolahti, Rautjärvi or Parikkala. When the summer work voucher applicant's domicile is Imatra, the voucher is primarily issued to the company in the domicile.

  • The value of the summer work voucher, €350, is paid to the employer at the end of the employment relationship.

  • The date for the summer work period is May 1.5-August 31.8.2023, XNUMX.

  • Duration of summer work: minimum 10 working days. At least 60 hours of work hours must be accumulated during the employment relationship, the hours can be spread over a longer period of time.

  • The employee is paid the salary of a school student/summer employee according to the collective agreement. However, the salary must be at least €500 for ten working days.

  • The company/association/organization is responsible for the employer's obligations.

  • A young person can work in a company, association, organization, foundation or club with a y identification number. 

  • You cannot work for the state, municipality, parish, or private person.

  • The operator's office issues summer work vouchers and sends information about the summer work voucher to the email of the applicant and the employer. 

  • Vouchers are issued in the order in which applications are received. Advance reservations cannot be made.

  • Vouchers are issued one voucher/applicant and a maximum of 5 vouchers/employer. 

Young man, do this:

  • Apply for summer jobs electronically and visit employers. Always remember to mention the possibility of a summer work voucher, it improves the probability of getting a job! For support, you can print out the operating instructions from the attachments or pick them up from the Cockpit to take with you. 
  • When you have agreed on a summer job, fill in together with the employer electronic summer work voucher application
  • Make an official employment contract with your employer.

Employer, proceed as follows:

  • Fill in the electronic application form with the young person. You will receive the summer work voucher information in your email when the application has been processed. 
  • Check out to the Act on Young Employees and to instructions on acting as an employer. The employer's company/association/organization is responsible for the employer's obligations (accident insurance, social security contributions, etc.).
  • The employer and the young person enter into a separate employment contract.
  • The employee is paid the salary of a school student/summer employee according to the collective agreement. However, the salary must be at least €500 for ten working days.
