Vuoks fishing areas and permit conditions

The fishing area includes the area according to the attached map in Vuoksi and Mellonlahti. Fishing with only the state fish management fee is not allowed.

NOTE: Vuok and Mellonlahti have separate fishing permits.

Vuok's fishing permit

Vuoksi's fishing permit is personal (excluding company permits) and entitles you to trolling, snare and fly fishing in Vuoksi's joint permit area, excluding Mellonlahti. A youth permit for 12–18-year-olds is half the price of a normal permit. Fishing with a fishing management fee is not allowed. Children under the age of 12 can troll and snare with the owner of the permit and from his quota for free. Children under the age of 12 need a youth permit when fishing alone.

Worm fishing and ice fishing are allowed in Vuoksi without a Vuoksi fishing permit. In Vuos, crabbing is also allowed annually with a separate permit.

Trolling and snaring is allowed in the area between the mouth of Vuoksi and the border zone all year round, except for a local relaxation in the area between the railway bridge and the mouth of Vuoksi from 15.10 October to 15.11 November, both days included. 

A maximum of two (2) free fish are allowed in the boat and on the beach at the same time. Likewise, no more than two (2) free can be used for fishing and ice fishing. It is forbidden to use the engine when trolling. The exception is a separate motor trolling area between Kyyrönkoski and the back border of the border zone. The motor trolling permit is personal and entitles you to fish with a maximum of four (4) rods per boat. 

The permit entitles you to fish a total of two (2) salmon per day (species: trout, rainbow trout, grayling). Only one (1) lake salmon can be fished per day. 

Bottom dimensions of prey fish:

• Harjus 35 cm (calmed 1.4. – 31.5.)
• Lake trout 50 cm, when the adipose fin is cut, the adipose fin is completely sedated
• Lake salmon 60 cm, when the adipose fin is cut, the adipose fin is completely sedated
• Walleye 42 cm (fishing area recommendation 45 cm)

Mellonlahti fishing permit

Mellonlahti's fishing license is personal and entitles you to fish in Mellonlahti.

Windsurfing and harpoon fishing are prohibited in Mellonlahti. Canning is allowed with a separate permit.

The use of standing gear, e.g. shock hooks or equipment comparable to it, is prohibited.

State fisheries management fee

Every person between the ages of 18 and 69 who engages in lure fishing or crabbing with Vuoksi's permit must also pay the state fishery management fee. The exception is fishermen who turn 65 by December 31.12.2023, XNUMX.

A fishery management fee is not required for angling and ice fishing alone. Vuoksi's permit and the state's fishery management fee are required to flag Muikku.

Fishing competitions

The organization of a fishing competition in Vuoki and Mellonlahti must be agreed separately Environmental action of the Imatra region with. The organizers of the trolling competition pay a competition fee of €8,00/boat and for fishing and ice fishing competitions €2,00/participant. Competition organized for under 18s is exempt from payment.

In Mellonlahti, lure fishing, fishing rod and ice fishing competitions €10/participant. Competition organized for under 18s is exempt from payment. The competition fee includes the Mellonlahti fishing license for the duration of the competition.
