What do the Slush business event, the Imatrankoski development project and gas station city parliaments have in common?

There are certainly more, but at least in the background of all of them there is a need for meeting. All of the above are examples of the city acting as a platform for encounters.

In the city, intellectual and financial capital meet. It's a place where ideas turn into business. In the city, the service meets its users. The city offers a platform where companies meet their customers, understand their needs and offer solutions that make everyday life smoother and create a famous competitive advantage.

And in the background of everything, man meets man. Those who came from somewhere, stayed here, left us, ended up somewhere. Everyone has their own, valuable story. In business, the idea that "Every Business is People Business" - interaction between people is becoming more and more important.

"It won't work," chirps the spring resistance to change, according to the Undersecretary of State. Mutual cajoling, the pursuit of quick profits and self-aggrandizement at the expense of others challenge development. Seeing possibilities, encounters, different communities and working together build sustainable vitality.

Dear friends of Imatra, let's make sure that this spring the song of Karelia rather than the discord of resistance to change will be heard from Karelia this spring!

The author Susanna Issakainen is the vitality manager of the city of Imatra.
