Honorary visits and wreaths will be laid at the hero memorials located in Imatra at 11.30:XNUMX am. The main place this year is at Vuoksenniska's hero's cemetery at the Peace Bells monument, where Reverend Arto Marttinen will give a devotional moment and the city's speech will be Antero Lattu.
In addition to Vuoksenniska, the wreaths are laid at the Tainionkoski and Imatrankoski hero cemeteries at the same time, and each memorial has a congregational moment of devotion. Border guard honor guards and scouts will be present, who will also lay wreaths.
The main celebration of Independence Day is at Kulttuuritalo Virra at 14 p.m
Before the party, coffee is served from 12:30.
- There is free entry to the party at the Culture House. It's a great opportunity to show appreciation for Finland's independence and veterans, says the city's event producer Mari Haaparanta.
At 16 p.m., the day will be celebrated with a rapids performance accompanied by Sibelius' Finlandia anthem.
The Imatra branch of the Sotimie 1939-1945 veterans tradition association, the Imatra parish and the city of Imatra are responsible for the program.
