The joint public transport area changed the line numbers and brings the pink Joukot

Lappeenranta and Imatra will establish a common public transport area on January 1.1.2024, XNUMX, if the law change is approved.

In the future, Lappeenranta will be responsible for organizing public transport in both cities and between them. The change makes everyday life easier for those traveling by bus.

ELY-keskus previously organized the transport between the cities, but got rid of the responsibility already in the summer, so cooperation is already being learned in this regard.

What changes:

• Unified ticket, payment and information systems throughout the region. Lappeenranta will also switch to Imatra's familiar Ridango ticket and payment system.

• Timetables or routes may change gradually over the next year and the years to come.

• Changes to the line numbers so that the numbering does not overlap in the cities. The change has already been implemented: Imatra lines are now 20-26.

• The pink Joukots will enter Imatrank's traffic, but not immediately at the turn of the year.
