South Karelia is known for its delicious bread and skilled bread makers. The area has even been called Finland's bread province. We want to find and reward the best bread makers, and that's why we invite you to the big bread competition in Imatra on July 23.7.2022, XNUMX!

The bread competition is part of what is organized at Imatra Celebrating 250 years of tourism event.

- We will award two cash prizes to the winners of the competition, one of which will be voted by the public and the other will be chosen by the jury. The sums of the prizes are 300 euros per series, says the responsible producer of the event Juha-Pekka Natunen.

- And so that the participation is not limited by money, we finance the material costs of the bread makers with 100 euros per team and for this reason we can only take 12 teams. In addition, those participating in the competition have the opportunity to sell their own food products during the event, Natunen continues.

At least 1500-2000 visitors are expected for the event. There are also international teams, e.g. From Estonia.

12 teams are included in the competition, one team can accommodate 1-6 people.

The venue is Inkerinaukio in Imatra on 23.7.2022 July 14. The event time of the bread competition is around 16:XNUMX-XNUMX:XNUMX. Otherwise, the event will continue until the evening, so you can sell your products beyond the competition time if you wish.

Bread competition rules:

  • we finance the bread makers' material costs with 100 euros per team and for this reason we can only include 12 teams
  • participants in the competition have the opportunity to sell their own food products during the event
  • apply as a team
  • The event has tents and tables set up ready for the racing teams. Other equipment is brought by the competitor himself.
  • We will award two cash prizes to the winners of the competition, one of which will be voted by the public and the other will be chosen by the jury. The prize amounts are 300 euros per series.

Criteria for participation:

  • You know how to make good bread
  • You can be a professional bread maker or a serious hobbyist
  • You prepare 2000 tasting pieces for the competition, which you distribute for free to the event's customers
  • A spread such as butter or margarine can be offered with the bread, but nothing else
  • The tasting pieces are prepared in advance and served at the event
