Unnecessary buildings will be demolished in the school center's grounds during the summer. The Eastern Finland school is moving to an expandable forest module.

Unnecessary buildings will be demolished in the grounds of the Koski school center during the summer.

One wing is being dismantled from the yellow banana module located next to the Lyceum.

- The dismantling of the wing will start on 21.6. According to the plan, the other half of the module will remain for teaching use at least until 2025, space and safety manager Sami Turunen says.

The old technical work building next to the new main school will also be demolished. Its demolition has already started. The teaching of technical work will move to new premises in the main school in August.

During the summer, an addition will be built to the forest module located behind the main school.

- In August, the school's teaching in Eastern Finland will be transferred to the additional part, principal Johanna Ovaska says.

The new furniture will be delivered next week

The furnishing of Koski's main school will begin on June 18. The building is mainly furnished with new furniture.

- The furniture is brought in well before the start of the school year, so that they have time to air out properly, says Turunen.

The furniture from the half of the dismantled banana module will be moved to the high school building. The furniture to be stored from the old technical work space has already been moved to the new teaching spaces in the main building.

The movable property of Imatrankoski and Meltola schools will be auctioned

School work in Imatrankoski and Meltola schools ended last academic year. Very little movable property is moved from closed schools to Koski school center. The furniture and other movables left in the buildings will be auctioned at an auction organized by the parent committee on Wednesday, June 16.

- From Imatrankoski and Meltola, mostly unopened educational equipment packages and individual items that are easy to clean properly are transferred to Koski, Ovaska says.

The proceeds from the auction will be used for the benefit of the students.
