Microbial discoveries were made in structural investigations.

A recent structural study has revealed moisture damage in the structure of the outer wall of the Imatra sports hall. Microbial findings have been revealed from the samples taken from the outer wall of the running track and from one of the office spaces on the upper floor. Detailed indoor air studies were carried out based on the feedback received from customers and the results of the risk assessment.

─ The results are worrying. We hope that the situation can be rectified for the rest of the property's life, chairman of the indoor air working group, space and safety manager Sami Turunen says.

The study was carried out by Rakenkus za kalamitaus RakLamit Oy. Now it is expected that the researcher will prepare a measure proposal, based on which we will think about what to do with the premises. A recommendation for action is expected by Thursday of this week, when the indoor air working group will make its own recommendation to the city management regarding the possible temporary repair and use of the facilities and further investigations of the property. Until then, the facilities are normally available.

Imatra is currently planning the construction of a new sports hall and swimming pool.
